Products Description
The Gr5 Titanium Hex Flange Nut is a threaded fastener made of titanium or titanium alloy. It is usually used with corresponding bolts or threaded rods to firmly fasten components together.
Features
Corrosion resistance
The thickness of the dense oxide film (TiO₂) generated on the surface of our product is stable at 5-8 nanometers. In a strong acid environment with a pH value of 0.5 or a 3.5% salt spray environment, the annual corrosion rate is less than 0.002 mm. Compared with ordinary stainless steel nuts (annual corrosion rate of 0.15-0.4 mm), the life of this product in scenes such as chemical pipelines and offshore platforms is extended by more than 10 times, and no electroplating or coating is required, avoiding the risk of secondary corrosion caused by coating peeling.
High temperature creep resistance
The Titanium Nut still maintains 75% of the room temperature strength at a high temperature of 550°C, and the thermal expansion coefficient is 8.6×10⁻⁶/°C, which is only 1/3 of carbon steel. Secondly, through β-phase stabilization treatment, its creep strength under continuous load at 300°C reaches 150 MPa (2000 hours test data), and the preload loss rate is controlled within 2%. It is suitable for gas turbines, high-temperature reactors and other scenes to avoid thread bite failure caused by thermal cycles.
Precision molding technology
Our products use five-axis CNC machine tools and super-hard coated tools. The internal thread accuracy of titanium nuts reaches ISO 6H standard, and the outer diameter tolerance is controlled within ±0.012 mm. Secondly, through the vacuum heat treatment process, the internal residual stress is reduced to below 8 MPa, so that the dimensional change rate of the nut in the range of -60°C to 350°C is less than 0.006%, meeting the strict requirements of satellite components and precision instruments for assembly accuracy of ±0.02 mm.
Applications
Aerospace Industry
Gr5 Titanium Hex Flange Nut is widely used in the fastening systems of aircraft structures, engine compartments and satellite components due to their high strength and light weight, effectively reducing the weight of the entire machine, improving high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, and improving flight safety and fuel efficiency.
Medical Equipment
Titanium materials have good biocompatibility and are non-magnetic. Titanium nuts are often used in the precision fastening parts of orthopedic implants, dental equipment and medical devices to ensure long-term stable operation in the human environment and are non-toxic and non-irritating.
Chemical Industry
In highly corrosive media environments, our products are used in key connection locations of equipment such as reactors, storage tanks, and heat exchangers. They have strong acid and alkali corrosion resistance, significantly extend the service life of equipment, and improve the stability of chemical systems.

FAQ
Q: What is a Gr5 Titanium Hex Flange Nut?
A: A Gr5 Titanium Hex Flange Nut is a type of fastener made from titanium, used in conjunction with bolts or threaded rods to secure parts together. It provides excellent strength, corrosion resistance, and low weight.
Q: What are the advantages of using titanium nuts?
A: Titanium nuts are lightweight, extremely strong, corrosion resistant, non-magnetic, and heat resistant, making them ideal for demanding environments.
Q: In which industries are Gr5 Titanium Hex Flange Nuts commonly used?
A: Gr5 Titanium Hex Flange Nuts are widely used in aerospace, marine, medical, automotive racing, military, chemical processing, and oil and gas applications.
Q: Which titanium grades are typically used for nuts?
A: Grade 2 is used for excellent corrosion resistance, and Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) is preferred for high strength and load-bearing applications.
Q: How do titanium nuts perform in corrosive environments?
A: Titanium nuts form a stable oxide layer that resists corrosion from saltwater, acids, and industrial chemicals, making them ideal for marine and chemical processing environments.
Q: Are Gr5 Titanium Hex Flange Nuts suitable for high-temperature applications?
A: Yes. Gr5 Titanium Hex Flange Nuts retain their strength and stability up to around 600°C (1112°F), making them suitable for high-temperature aerospace and engine applications.
Q: Are titanium nuts reusable?
A: Yes, titanium nuts can be reused, especially when used with anti-galling coatings or lubricants. However, reuse depends on application load, thread wear, and environment.
Q: What are common types of titanium nuts?
A: Types include hex nuts, flange nuts, lock nuts, nyloc nuts, cap nuts, and wing nuts, available in both metric and imperial sizes.
Q: Are titanium nuts compatible with other metal fasteners?
A: Titanium nuts are compatible with titanium bolts. When used with dissimilar metals, galvanic corrosion can occur unless properly isolated or coated.
Q: How should I choose the right Gr5 Titanium Hex Flange Nut?
A: Consider factors such as tensile strength, thread size, titanium grade, environmental exposure, temperature range, and required nut type. Consult application standards or engineering guidelines if needed.
