Titanium alloy welding, what are the efficient welding methods?
At present, the more efficient titanium alloy welding methods are mainly: PAW, LW, LW+MIG and other automatic welding methods.
1. Preparation before welding
The pre-welding preparation of titanium alloy welding is very important, and the pre-welding preparation mainly includes:
(1) Clean before welding
Before welding, the titanium alloy surface within 50mm of the groove and both sides of the groove should be polished with a fine wire stainless steel wire brush until the metallic luster of the titanium alloy itself is exposed. After grinding, wipe the groove and its sides clean with clean white silk cloth and acetone to completely remove the oxide film, grease, water, dust and other debris in the welding area.
(2) Debugging equipment
Before welding, carefully check the pressure of each cylinder to ensure that the pressure of various gases is sufficient. Before PA and L-MIG composite welding, the welding machine should be adjusted and checked to ensure that the power supply and wire feeder work normally. During the adjustment inspection, the welding torch can generally be walked over the full length of the weld to ensure that the walking mechanism is working normally and the welding torch is ideally aligned with the weld. Before LW welding, weld trajectory should be corrected and NC program written.
